Joy Connell is a dedicated finance professional with over twenty years of accounting experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and has provided her expertise to both privately held organizations and public corporations before founding JCATS with small and growing businesses in mind — knowing that accounting needs can change daily depending on how rapidly a business is growing.

Why she became an Enrolled Agent

The Enrolled Agent credential is the highest tax‑specific credential the IRS awards. For Joy, becoming an EA wasn't about the title — it was about being able to sit next to her clients when it matters most. As an EA, she is licensed by the United States Treasury to represent clients directly before the Internal Revenue Service.

Joy is a proud member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Enrolled Agents, and completes a minimum of 24 hours per year of continuing education in ethics, tax law, and tax updates — so her guidance is always based on current law, not last year's assumptions.

Beyond tax season

Joy is also a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, providing implementation, customization, and one‑on‑one training for both start‑ups and established companies. She has also provided system administration and integration using NetSuite and Sage accounting software.
